The Genelec 8040B is an active 2-way studio monitor designed for accurate monitoring in medium-sized mixing rooms, smaller control rooms and secondary studios. It combines a 6.5″ low-frequency driver with a 0.75″ dome tweeter and provides a frequency response of 41 Hz-25 kHz.
The Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) technology provides a wide and controlled listening area with consistent sound reproduction both on and off axis. The bass-reflex enclosure extends low-frequency response, while the included Iso-Pod system isolates the monitor from unwanted vibrations and allows its angle to be adjusted.
Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) automatically detects when the monitor is not in use and switches it to a low-power standby mode. Active crossover circuitry and driver protection provide reliable operation for professional monitoring applications.
