The Genelec 8050B is an active 2-way studio monitor designed for accurate mix referencing in commercial studios, mastering control rooms, broadcast trucks and editing suites. It combines an 8″ woofer with a 1″ metal dome tweeter, powered by dedicated 150 W LF and 120 W HF amplifiers.
The Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) improves imaging and provides a wide, controlled listening area, while the bass-reflex port extends low-frequency response. The low-diffraction aluminum enclosure uses Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE) technology to reduce unwanted coloration.
Room compensation controls allow the monitor response to be adjusted to the listening environment. Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) automatically activates the monitor when an audio signal is detected and switches it to a low-power standby mode when not in use. The included Iso-Pod provides vibration isolation and allows flexible positioning, while threaded mounting points support additional mounting options.
