The Genelec 8331 is a 3-way active SAM studio monitor designed for accurate near-field monitoring in professional audio applications. Its coaxial point-source design combines the midrange driver and tweeter with dual 5.1″ woofers, aligning their acoustic axes for precise imaging and consistent sound reproduction.
The Minimum Diffraction Coaxial Driver (MDC) and Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) provide controlled directivity across the frequency range, while the bass-reflex enclosure extends low-frequency response. The monitor can be positioned either vertically or horizontally, making it suitable for a wide range of near-field monitoring environments.
GLM (Genelec Loudspeaker Manager) software enables automatic room calibration, detailed equalization and network control of multiple monitors. The monitor supports both balanced analog and AES3 digital audio signals, with two RJ45 connections for GLM networking and an AES3 output for daisy-chaining additional monitors. Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) provides automatic power management, while the included Iso-Pod helps isolate the monitor from unwanted surface vibrations.
