The Genelec 8340A is an active 2-way SAM studio monitor designed for accurate mix referencing in project studios, small-to-medium-sized control rooms, edit suites and mobile setups. It combines a 6.5″ woofer with a 0.75″ metal dome tweeter, powered by dedicated 150 W LF and 150 W HF Class-D amplifiers.

The Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) technology improves imaging and provides a wide, controlled listening area, while the bass-reflex port extends low-frequency response. The low-diffraction aluminum enclosure uses Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE) technology to minimize unwanted reflections and coloration.

GLM (Genelec Loudspeaker Manager) software enables automatic calibration and detailed frequency adjustment according to the listening environment. The monitor provides balanced analog and AES3 digital audio connectivity, two RJ45 Ethernet connections for network control and multiple mounting options. Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) enables automatic power-saving operation, while the included Iso-Pod provides vibration isolation and flexible positioning.
